Higher School of Economics always pays a lot of attention to international relations. This year, HSE University-St Petersburg laid the foundation for cooperation with the leading Indonesian universities. Recently, HSE University at Pokrovsky Bulvar in Moscow hosted the first festival of Indonesian culture 'Garuda'.

HSE SPB Day has been held at Sevkabel Port in the open air. HSE students were congratulated on the beginning of the academic year by the trustees, faculty deans, and the rousing HSE Dance Club. The first-years had an initiation ceremony, participated in activities from student clubs, and danced to popular songs on the Gulf of Finland. They received well wishes from the professors, representatives of large companies and, of course, student organisations. On September 10–13, Vladivostok hosted the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). The participants discussed the development of Russia and its relations with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. The delegation of HSE University-St Petersburg featured representatives of the administration, professors, and students of the campus.

Academic mobility is an amazing opportunity not only to study abroad but also explore another country. Anastasia Kuprishkina, graduate of the Bachelor’s programme ‘Political Science and World Politics’, had a chance to go to Thammasat University and experience life in Thailand. This Saturday, on September 16, the Sevkabel Port space located by the Gulf of Finland will host the annual HSE SPB Day. The School of Arts and Humanities opened the Laboratory of Critical Theory of Culture. There, the researchers will engage in the development of new theory of culture in the fast-paced modern world. The head of the Laboratory was assigned to be Ivan Mikirtumov, Doctor of Philosophy and professor at HSE University-St Petersburg.
