The School of Economics and Management is the result of bringing together the HSE St Petersburg Faculties of Economics and Management. The new school which combines the best of each of the former faculties offers three Bachelor’s and six Master’s degree programmes.
The main goal of the new school in teaching undergraduates and post-graduate students is to prepare them for professional work and independent research consistent with the high demands of international educational standards within the framework of an interdisciplinary approach.

On October 12, the annual HSE Welcome Day for masters of Business Management and Analytics and Finance programs was held. The day included an on-site seminar about student team building and was held at the Kochubey Center, the HSE executive training center in St. Petersburg, located in Pushkin. The event was held by Raya Nunes Mahdi and Carlos Nunes, business coaches of the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences (Germany).Saturday morning began with trainings on skills of effective communication between large and small groups. During the day, participants performed group tasks on intercultural differences, analyzed all kinds of cases and worked out mistakes on cultural values. All teams presented their results to the Commission of Teachers of the St. Petersburg School of Economics and Management, Natalia Volkova, Vasilisa Makarova, Tatiana Grishchenko. During the day students were inspired by Elena Rogova (Dean and head of the master's Finance program), Angel Barajas (head of the program Management and Analytics for business), Elena Shakina (Deputy Dean for organization of scientific activities and academic development).The trip was attended by undergraduates, representatives of more than fifteen different countries: Colombia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Ghana, Uzbekistan, Germany, Peru, China, Iran, Indonesia, Mexico, Morocco, Italy, etc.Lorenzo Fava, a student of the Finance program, double degree diploma of the St. Petersburg School of Economics and Management, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Milan, Italy), representative of the winning team in part of the cases thanked for organising the event for the masters, said the coordinated work of its team and wished their classmates to use the opportunities offered by the University.Closing HSE Welcome Day was spent writing a letter to myself in the future "Dear Future Me". Each student wrote a letter, answering a few questions: "How do you imagine yourself in two years, at the end of the master's program? What goals and dreams would you like to realize by the end of the master's program?". All envelopes will be handed to students on the day of their graduation.
