Dr Peter Meylakhs took part in a workshop at Warwick University

Senior  Research Fellow at CHEMP, Dr Peter Meylakhs, recently attended a workshop at Warwick University (UK)

Our new Senior Research Fellow at CHEMP, Dr Peter Meylakhs, recently attended a workshop at Warwick University (UK) led by a prominent social theorist Margaret Archer (pictured with Peter). Archer's theory of morphogenesis  is very useful for those studying social change (or lack thereof), and may serve as a theoretical framework for a future project on Russian drug policy which Peter will lead. Peter joined CHEMP in June 2016 and is working in the overlapping fields of medical sociology and public health, and his main research interests include social aspects of HIV and drug use, drug policy, doctor-patient relationships and chronic disease trajectories. At CHEMP he will support work in Cardiovascular research, in qualitative methods in general and will, of course, bring his expertise in public health and drugs policy to our research centre.

CHEMP is glad to have appointed Peter and looks forward to supporting his work in the years ahead.
